After much deliberation, and a load of personal reflection, I've decided to leave the wonders of blog world behind me. I will leave the blog up until the end of August 2012 so everyone can print off their favorite tutorials/recipes.

Make your own SLURPEES using Kool-Aid

Why pay a few buckaroos for a SLURPEE at the SEV when you can make your own...in your own kitchen...whenever you want?!?

All you need is:
1 packet of Kool-Aid
2 cups of club soda
1/2 cup sugar
2 1/2 cups crushed ice
and, of course, a blender

Step 1 ~ Blend Kool-Aid, sugar, and 1 cup of the club soda on high until the sugar is dissolved.

Step 2 ~ Add the ice and blend until the mixture is smooth.

Step 3 ~ Add remaining cup of club soda and blend away...mixture should be similar to that in the picture.

Step 4 ~ Pour mixture into glasses and put in freezer for 30  minutes.

Step 5 ~ Yell at your kids to stop opening the freezer to see if they are done yet!!!

Step 6 ~ SLURP!!!

And what do the kidlets have to say about these?

"Mom...these are the best SLURPEES I've EVER had!!"
{word for word}

And...got this just 20 minutes after they had their first...

{yes, my kids have cell phones}
